Anyone Here Catch the 4K/HDR NFL Network Broadcast Last Night?

Was it legit 4K? Was it HDR or HLG?

I wanted to watch it in 4K HDR but didn't have a way to do so. Seems it was a bit messy last night:

I ended up viewing it on Amazon Prime and it looked better than the satellite feed on Fox. Cleaner and clearer, especially during motion, which is very important for football. The high compression on cable and satellite just ruins what could be a better presentation.

I very much look forward to when all sports are broadcast in 4K HDR.

You ca watch it on the Fox Sports App via Apple TV. I watched it on my 82" and it looked awesome. By far the best live sport I've seen in my life (was my 1st 4k sport so my comparison is only cable and streaming and also Amazon).

AMAZONs live stream usually look very good too but this had it beat by a nice margin.

For comparison, it looked like trash on Fox via YouTube TV at 720p.

According to the article linked above, Apple TV does not support HLG so it was not in HDR on Apple TV.

No, it was recorded/captured in 1080p HDR (HLG) and upscaled to 2160p HDR (HLG) and downscaled to 720p SDR for distribution:

"What happens is that we capture everything right at the camera heads at 1080p HDR, and then we produce the whole show as we have actually since the Miami preseason game. We do that all in 1080p HDR. And then do two things to it: number one, we upscale it to 4K for the 4K distributors, and then we have to downscale it for the wider audience to good old 720p SDR."

Upscaled 4K then it's not really 4K. By this reasoning I'm watching everything in 4K as my TV up scales everything to 4K.

According to the article linked above, Apple TV does not support HLG so it was not in HDR on Apple TV.

I have my Apple TV set to output in HDR so the tv uses P3 colors but in a very natural way. It looks good for some things and bad for others. But for these 4k broadcasts it looks completely natural and you likely wouldn't know the difference.
