I have an ECP 4100, after sitting for 2 months plugged in but turned off, Igo back to turn it on now, and nothing :(

The green standby LED is on but when I push the power button on the remote, nothing happens. Normally the little red LED on the remote will flash and then the projector will turn on.

The CRT god has forsaken me, can any of you help?

Curt, I lost your current list, you have any deals for under 1000?

Are you using the wired or the IR remote?

Yeah, if the green light is on and you're just not getting a red light on the remote, maybe the cable's got a disconnect (if it's the wired one) or dead batteries (if wireless).

I've got a couple good ECP chassis (chassises? chassi?)

Or I could send you another wired AND wireless remote to try and wake your ECP up.

Just a heads up for those of you looking for ECP remotes. The wired remote can very easily be converted to a wireless remote. Run a search in the archives. From what I remember it was very detailed and included great pics of the project.

Another thing to check, I've seen where the cable gets disconnected from inside what should be that battery area on the remote.

Your projector sounds like it entered sleep mode. Have you pressed control+alt+delete yet?

More seriously, have you unplugged the power for an hour, then plugged it back in? Reseated the remote cable (unplug, plug it back in).

Right now your problem starts with the remote, since the light on the remote doesn't turn on. This indicates three possible problems.

1) The remote is not properly connected to the projector.

2) The remote is dead.

3) There is a problem with the power to the remote.

Just an outside shot, but does the remote use any batteries at all? If so, maybe the batteries are so dead, they are causing a problem. Even if the batteries aren't required, if they are in place and are leaking or anything else, they can cause a problem. :)

just a shot in the dark, I have similiar problems with my ampro 2000. I have to unplug the remote, turn off the machine, plug back in the remote, then turn on the machine to get it to respond again.

I don't have any 4100's... I've got a couple of 3100's.

I used to have a 4100. IIRC, the remotes are all the same.

Let's start by trying a new wireless and wired remote and see if we can wake yours up first.

PM your mailing address and I'll send them.

There is a direct link in there to the mod instructions but it doesn't work. If anybody is intersted here I can take some picks and post them up here.
Does this mod work on Sony?

Or is there a mod to convert my 1272 remote to wireless? It looks easy, maybe? I see a place for batteries, and an empty void where the IR transmitter would go. It also has the hole in the front for the jack to hook up the remote extender cable but the actual jack is not there on the remote. I was also just considering extending the standard cable with the 4-prong connector that hooks to it from the factory if I cant figure out how to get the remote extender cable I just bought (which looks like headphone jacks on both ends) to hook up somehow since the remote doesn't have that jack on it. Because I would like to fine-tune my zone convergence to a higher degree while adjusting at closer proximaty to the screen. I hate having to run back and forth

Sorry if slightly OT, just seemed like a good place to add that in
