So my wife just won a 40" flat screen hdtv from the radio. It had to do with RCA records and American Idol.


What are the odds that this will be in fact, a flat panel. It seems the common man assumes flat screen with the plasmas and lcds.


I have at least two weeks before it arrives, and it's driving me crazy!!!!!!!


What do ya'll think you actually won if it is a 40" FLAT SCREEN HDTV?

I don't think any rear projection TV comes in 40". 42" is the smallest size for RP. You probably got a 40" LCD Flat Panel.


What Brand is more of the question

My guess is its a 40" LCD also.

Smart money says its a Sony or Samsung LCD. I'd guess the non-XBR Sony.

Hm. Smart money says SONY, probably the 40S2000 or 2010. Unless they went hog-wild, and then who knows...


RCA electronics is owned by Thomson.


But RCA Records is owned by Sony BMG. And the only electronics company in the Sony-Bertelsmann mix is Sony Corp.

Cool. I was thinking it would be some kind of lower tier sony as well.


We already have a room with a projector, so even if this isn't a theater quality tv, it is still better than our old 20" sdtv.

Might be worth asking, but they will probably say no. Usually a sponsor provides the prize and the station is simply conveying it.
