Well, reading the post you referenced it is clear to any rational person who doesn't hold stock in Three Five Systems:
They still can't build the imaging engines in any volume at all. Yields remain abysmally low. The yields are so low, RCA can't even ship sets, let alone offer them at a lower price.
Obviously, this can change. It is telling, however, that the leading purveyors of LCoS technology have apparently made next to zero progress on this front in two years. Perhaps someday, things will improve but they haven't yet.
Oh, and 500 sets so far? Wow! At that rate, this technology will outship Bentley autos in the U.S. by a few units come year end.
