How many of you guys are gonna run out and get a PT-L500U the day it comes out and, if you already have the 300U-- what do you plan on doing with it?

I pre-ordered an AE500 from the orient today. I'm number 3 on the waiting list. Can't wait to get it. It will be my first projector.

What about warranty service when buying from Japan?
What is the price in US dollars?
WHere did you buy from?
What about menu options and remote control buttons... are they in english or Japanese?
Hmm... what else would make me nervous buying from Japan?
I guess the projector is exactly the same as the 500u, just a different name?

SARS? lol, no but really, theres nothing wrong with buying something from Japan or any international market. I believe the Warranty will be honored in the US but you may have to export it to Japan for service, but again not sure.

I am wanting to buy a projector ASAP, and being that I keep coming back to the L300u, it seems the L500u will be an even better choice!

I can't stand it! i think I'm buying from that place in Japan!!! The price is amazing! Practically the same as the 300u is now!
This forum is great! If it wasn't for you people, i'd be stuck with an over priced rear projection TV.
So, one question, though. Will I still be able to plug the AE500 into the wall here in Texas? Do they have the same plug type and power? Do I need to get an adapter along with my AE500 purchase?
I have never made an oversea purchase, and that website makes it so easy and so tempting that I don't think I can resist!

i'll be waiting for the reviews myself...who knows what hidden surprises that this new projector will have (who knew about the scanline artifact or the "flickering screen" problems with the L300U?)
