I seems many people are going with scope screens these days. I am going to go this route also with my new theater. It seems to make sense as most films are using this ratio. I plan on zooming in my projector to fill the screen. The room will also have a soffit like many other theaters on here. For those that have a similar setup does anyone get reflections of the black bars on their soffit while zooming in content to fit the screen? It seems that some of that light has the potential to creep up there. Just wondering as it my dictate my front soffit material.

I had a fair amount of spill that was annoying. I placed masking about 4" in front of the projector lens to catch most of the overspill. The rest is dealt with by the screen border and masking.

Look closely at my projector in this "progress" shot. You'll see what I mean.

Interesting way to deal with the over spill. That is one way to do it. I guess I am not sure how mine will look until I build it. Thanks for the response!

I have a scope screen and a Panny 4K that auto-switches the ratio based on input. I also have a Soffit. With a black ceiling and screen wall, I don't see any amount of reflected light that bothers me.

I'd tru the black walls before messing around with trying to block it at the projector.
