Some Suggestions WiFI BoomBox?

My wife wants a boombox that she can carry around (ie the house and outside) and stream the music from her computer, after looking around I only really found the Linksys WMLS11b, this is the basic idea I want, but from my reading nobody really likes it and it seems flimsy. So now I am looking into building my own, I have decided on an OmniFi Dms1 w/ wifi adapter for the streaming from her computer, now the question is how to output the audio, my initial thoughts are to rewire a pair of Creative PC speakers to the RCA jacks and basically rebuild everything in a custom box. Or is there a small reciever/amp (20-40 watt output) I can wire to some speakers, I am open to any suggestions, I have more time than money (student). Thanks. When I get this done I will post up pics
