My setup: X1 connected to a High defination box provided by Time Warner.

1. When using the Vesa componet adapter the X1 never finds the Hi Def box, it searches and searches but nothing. So I can only use S-video for now. Vesa works great with dvd player.

2. I also see lines going up the screen every 5 seconds, I cannot find the source of this lines going up the screen. I don't not get these lines when using my dvd player.

Somebody help:(

1) Is the box setup to output through the component? Something higher than 480i? Try setting it to 1080i.

2) Sounds like a ground loop problem. Google and you should find the answer!

Did you already have the cable box hooked up to another HD display? And was it working properly?

When I got my X1 and had TW hook up an HD box to it, it took the guy a long time to get good signal. I think he tried two boxes, and he had to keep Nexteling somebody to send a signal or something. It worked for a few days, then it started acting up. A tech came out and installed some sort of booster inside next to the box, and it works great now. FWIW, my setup: HD box > component cable out to VESA adapter > to computer in on X1. DVD player set to interlaced > component out to component to s-video adapter > to component/s-video in on X1.

Also, when I got digital cable a couple of years ago, I had scrolling lines. A tech came out and removed a white cylindrical booster from the line outside, and the lines went away.

I had the same problem. I have the DVR hi-def box from Time Warner. I called time warner and they had me do a reboot of the box. Don't remember exactly what the button push was to make it boot, but once it re-booted, it started sending a signal thru the component outputs and the X1 found it. It's been working perfectly ever since.
