My cable box comes without any HDMI or component output. I found the proportion of picture is weird when the source is 4:3 format.
For 4:3 source, there are only 4:3, 16:9 and wide zoom can be chosen. You can see the proportion is very weird in those modes.
Unfortunately, the mode of "Just scan" is just workable in 720P above signal via HDMI or component input only.

Please check the others competitors. They usually offer one mode for 4:3 format. The sample is sourced from Toshiba.
The proportion of picture remains close to its original proportion. I think that's the best solution for 4:3 format.
