Do you have eArc enabled (auto) on the Sony?
It was a pain to get these two to finally handshake with my X900H, but definitely make sure eARC is enabled, then make sure the input 3 is set to enhanced, then in the Sonos AP made sure earc is turned on and made sure your HDMI cable is pushed in good on the Sonos. With mine there was no click or response and the cable seemed to not seat as tight as I would have liked.
I had the same problem with my A80J, albeit with a different soundbar (Beosound Stage). I could only get Dolby Digital, not Atmos, and I spent hours changing every possible setting on the A80J and Stage.i have an A80J and use the arc as my soundbar but i am not getting atmos when watching atmos movies on hbo max. Any ideas on how to fix?
eArc does require a HDMI with ethernet type cable, not a plain HDMI cable.I had the same problem with my A80J, albeit with a different soundbar (Beosound Stage). I could only get Dolby Digital, not Atmos, and I spent hours changing every possible setting on the A80J and Stage.
In the end...it was a bad HDMI cable. As soon as I used a different cable from soundbar to A80J I got Atmos.
The HDMI cable that worked for me was the cable that came with my Xbox Series X.
So is the HDMI cable to comes with the Arc this type??eArc does require a HDMI with ethernet type cable, not a plain HDMI cable.
Unknown. Best to try a known cable like a certified premium HDMI cable from monoprice or Zeskit. So is the HDMI cable to comes with the Arc this type??
I have the same setup and issue.Got the Arc setup with my 77 A80J. For the most part everything is working. But a couple of questions.
When changing channels on directv, and also when switching to another source (such as Apple TV or the TV internal apps) there is a slight delay before the audio starts. Any ideas on this??
Also, what volume level are you using in normal viewing?? For us, we have to turn the volume up to at least 40 in normal viewing, sometimes even a little higher. Before setting up the Arc we were using the TV internal speakers and for most viewing, we would rarely go above 30. Does that sound normal?? Anything as far as settings go that I need to check? We have an Apple TV 4k connected to HDMI 4/ Directv box connected to HDM1 1/ Arc connected to HDMI 3.
