I haven't heard the Denon but going by the specs and design I would say the Sonos would probably win this match for sound quality. The Denon is considerably less expensive though especially because it includes the sub. If you are not planning on getting the Sonos sub I would get the Denon.
The sonos is a multichannel soundbar that has some great features to go with it. It works great for Home Theater and music IMO. It is built well and is easy to set up. It also has a low profile and sleek look. You will love the Sonos if you plan to stream a lot of music from variety of sources or if you plan on doing a whole home audio system with sonos. I would suggest getting a Harmony remote if you go with the sonos since it is a learning soundbar and does not come with a remote. Adding the sonos sub to the playbar really makes it blow away the Denon and any other soundbar under $1500 if you decide to go that route in the future (I would!). If it were me I go with the Playbar.
