Hi guys

Just some background, 70% movies 30% music. Vocals, Bossa Nova, Jazz.

I am currently running a 5.1.2 Atmos system with my Denon X4300H with Sonus Faber Olympica I for LR & center setup. Rear and ceiling speakers are Definitive Technology. Sub is SVS.

However I’ll be moving to a much smaller house in 3 months time. I’ve attached the new floor plan and 3D Rendering in the post.

I was thinking that the place might be too small to even benefit from a 5.1.2 Setup. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Therefore, I was contemplating on just going for Stereo setup with a pair of Devialet Phantom Gold.

For those who have heard both speakers, hope to hear your 2 cents worth.

Good luck finding someone who heard both but your already using tiny high quality speakers, not sure you’ll gain anything with those odd eye 👁 looking speakers 🔊...
Looks like kef62 turned into a circular speaker

I’d probably stick to 3ch your currently using , maybe try’s and find owners of this “ Devialet Phantom Gold “ for there opinions and reviews .
What are your room dimensions . I’ve seen people fit 7ch system inn small rooms , so it’s more less your decision if you watch enough movies for surround sound .

Your Sonus look ultra high end , I’m not sure if those 6.4k speakers are better or not .. you’d have to hear them to say , if free listening is possible.
2-3ch is fine just no 3D sound effects .
In fact I wouldn’t mind to keep my Sonus Faber but just that I was under the impression that small rooms don’t fit surround that well and I’ll be wasting my setup. But I guess it’s a good idea to still implement a proper surround. If u look at the floor plan attached. The room is only 3.5m x 3.5m.
I havent heard much Devialet phantom but i wasnt very impressed, sure they were fine for those who want the look. While i havent heard your Sonus Faber model im pretty sure i would keep those.

The SF Olympicas are excellent speakers, especially for music. I would simply add a subwoofer for movies. Alternatively, you could move the Olympicas to the back as surrounds, and add 2 towers for your fronts. I don't see how switching from SF to Devialets will be a step up.
These lights above the TV is big NO NO
Thank you everyone ! Pretty sure I shall just keep my Olympicas now and remove the lighting above my TV.

Try these lights in the back of the TV

Our rooms are about the same size, and I fit in a 5.1.4 setup. Keep your speakers, doing so is free... lol
