Just finished realigning my SONY 1030 with the new HD-144 lenses on...........WOW!
After some inital problems with focus in the corners of the picture, I decided (after advise from Tinmann-- thank you!) to take the hole thing down and apart and start all over:
New ceiling mount adjustable in all directions.
Resetting all controls to mid position and starting from here.
Resetting the PJ to 100" and here maybe was the biggest difference!
The thing is that I had, after purchasing the pj, changed it to 72" as this was my screen at tht time. But apparently I had misunderstood the manual thinking that I just had to change the rings to 72" and removing the 0.8 mm spacers at the tubes. But the trapezoid spacers behind the blue and red should be different too. I didn't notice this before with the TAC-II lenses, but the HD-144 lenses made it all too clear that something was wrong.
Now there is no problems achieving focus in the corners - in fact I can clearly see the black gabs between the scanning lines at 1024x500 even in the corners!!!
So now it is 960x540 I use, but I am not finished experimenting with this - I am busy watching movies!
So nice skin colors!
Such deeep colors!
Sooo many details!
And plenty of brightness in my totally dark room even at 195,5X110 cm screen!
