I recently sold my 1042Q, which was in perfect condition. I shipped it out in the same crate that I originally received it in. When the buyer got it, against my advice to let it air out, he fired it up right away, and now he says it will only power on for about 2 seconds and then die.

Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?

Thanks,

Mark

The first thing to check is that the fans turn on when you turn on power. No fans and the unit shuts down in a few seconds. (The 103x series does not check the fans, but the 104x does.)

Make sure the boards are all seated and plugged in. Also make sure the boards are not bent and shorting against something as can sometimes happen in shipping...

Good Luck!
