If you want very flush to your ceiling I would recommend the peerless mount. It also has a standard pipe mount, but I did not need that. I don't remember how much it was but it was also the lowest cost of the three (sony, chief, and peerless). I bought mine from mvs for something under $300.
I went with the Chief mount. I purchased it from one of the companies at www.avmall.com for $139. I received it the same week that I ordered it. I also think that they have the peerless mount for $129 but I liked the Chief mount better. They had the lowest prices that I could find. I went ahead and purchased the actual Sony mount for my 10HT for $300.00 I'm glad I did. It is well built, fits perfectly allowing access to filters etc. and has much adjustability with two different sized downrods included. I wouldn't get a universal mount to save $100.00
