Is I correct if the 1292 cut off/G2 setting is all automatic with no service controls for this?

I have a blue crt which seems a little to high G2 which results in a blue 'glow' in very dark areas regardless of the bias/gain settings.

Is there other on this forum that has had this problem, and did you find any procedure to correct it?

Thanks,

Hi,

Yes, as far as the Service Manual can tell and my (still low) knowledge of the 1292 there isn't such settings. In the SM, there isn't even any mention of the term "G2" !

It's all done trought the bias/gain stuff...

No, it's all done via bias and gain controls on the remote. No G2 procedure as such.

Try exchanging the CRT sockets. I had a blue that seemed like a bad tube and the tube never went into full cutoff. I dropped in a new CRT socket and that solved it. I think the chip was leaky, I have not gotten into it yet.

Curt, with crt socket, do you mean the neck board? If so, I have replaced the neck board, and the situation is the same.
