I just bought myself a Philips 42PFL7403D/F7 and I ended up getting a purple bar straight down the middle of my screen after a day.


Now, I'm not sure if I want to get the same TV or the Sony Bravia KDL40SL140. They both are the same price $997.00.


I'm just looking for any help, I'm leaning towards the Sony but not really sure anymore which is the better buy any help would be great!


I'm looking to connect this TV to my PC and my Xbox360 and watch pretty much basic cable and what ever HD channels I get from comcast.

Since it's the same price, your better off getting the Sony. Sony is definitely more reliable than Philips.
