Hello everyone:
I'm newbie to the forum and to XBR8, and I'd like to hear from people willing to share tips on how to adjust picture settings on XBR8.
In the few weeks since I got the TV, I've tried a few different picture calibration settings. The default settings were too bright (turned them down within first 2 hours). After couple of weeks I've realized that even my "turned down" settings are too bright--judging by the lightbulb-like glare of people's foreheads or white (even off-white) shirts. I looked up a couple of calibration settings, and drastically reduced brightness. However, I am now looking at a very dark picture, and a lot of shadow detail is simply lost. At this point I'm really ready for some good advice (even "set it to cinema and forget it" comments are welcome), just to stop tinkering with picture settings, and start enjoying the content...
Thanks in advance,
