Picked up this set back in May and I'm still in love with the display. Some members here helped me chose this tv, and after having it for 6 months and hooked up to a PS3 the entire time(can't believe I ever gamed in SD) I am still loving it. My only gripe is the sound, but for a thousand dollar set, I cannot complain. The sound is sometimes at a lower volume when I change channels on my cable box, but I guess that's the feed's volume.

Seems a little overpriced now that other sets are going on sale, but I would buy this one again. Blu Ray's look phenomenal and when watching The Dark Knight IMAX scenes, you can see everything as if you're looking through a pair of binoculars. I'm just a 25yr old bachelor and this set is perfect.

Glad you like it. Out of curiosity, what would you buy now that is on sale that you think would be as good?

I'd still buy the Sony or a similarly spec'ed display. Retail is $100 less(EX500 w/ 1yr warranty)than I paid right now. Only place I've found the EX501 for sale is Amazon and they want $1,700! Costco(where I got mine) doesn't list it anymore. Only real deals I know of are for black friday. Even then, I'd pay more to not deal with crowds of people sparring over discounted tv's. Guess the EX700 LED-LCD is taking it's place. Ex501 is CCFL. But I'm not concerned about the bulbs or the thickness and I didn't need or want the internet TV. Got a PS3 for that, and I'd rather let my TV just be a TV. Didn't want to run another Cat-5 cable either. I prefer it over wireless.

I have not noticed any issues with the 120hz. From what I understand, you can choose either 60hz via the menu options with MotionFlow set to Standard, or High(120hz). I've noticed a difference with that setting when watching some blu-rays. On the High setting, the people move like you are literally watching them in front of you, and standard looks like what a "normal" movie screen pace would be. Either way, I've never had any problems with gaming. That being said, if you want to save some money, 60hz seems to be sufficient !!!! IF !!!! I am correct with the MotionFlow settings being able to switch between 60 and 120hz.
