sony 46xbr2/3 v. mits lt46231

Please help me decide in time for superbowl!! I've had my heart set on the xbr for a while but I haven't pulled the trigger. I was waiting for the prices to come down but they haven't. The local asking price in my area is the MSRP as posted on the sony web site. While I was waiting I found the thread about the problems with the sony and started to shy away. I looked at the sam 4696 but was afraid it may have the same problems. The only other alternative I could find was the mits. I have a RP mits now that I'm looking to replace so I'm familiar w/ the brand. What I'm worried about with the 46231 is how it will perform with hd dvd and ps3.

I can get the mits right now at a much lower price than the sony (about 10 George Washingtons less). Is the PQ much less than the xbr?

Any help will greatly be appreciated.

I wouldn't consider $10 that much lower

I have a Sony 46" xbr2 and love it! I originally went to purchase the mitsu 46231 but the Sony held the edge. I think you will be happy with either set, clouds not-whithstanding (my xbr2 is fine for me).
