I have the Sony 52W3000 and just picked up a new 80gb ps3. In the video options on the ps3 I selected all the resolutions the TV will support. When I select the 1080p the screen will go blank and will not take for 1080p. It will take for all but 1080p. All connections via HDMI. When I put a regular DVD in and the ps3 will upscale to 1080i but not to 1080p. We rented a Blue-ray movie and it come up as 1080/24p. Anyone know what the issue is?

thanks

I suggest you try asking this question in the Blu Ray Player forum.

Generally the 1080/24p output will provide the best PQ even on a 60Hz set. 1080p/60 should have worked but sometimes Samsung's have problems with HDMI HDCP.

I understand the resoulutions. My question is the PS3 is not accepting the 1080p in the display settings. Automatic or if I do custom. Today I went to a store and on the newer version of my tv the PS3 didnt have any issues I went to automaic and it picked up 1080p
