Not really goin the HTPC route yet..........just want to hook up the computer to the TV for lazyboy surfing and maybe some gaming. But do have some Movies on the computer I can watch.

I got it hooked up from the 2nd DVI port on my graphics card to the PC in on the back of the TV. Most I can get out of the TV is 1360x768/60hz, so that gives me a black border.........and actually not all of the display is show (I have to pan top to bottom). If I go to Gigabyte's website (my card maker) and look up the card specs, it says;

Quote:
Dual integrated 400MHz RAMDACs for analog display resolutions up to and including 2048x1536 at 75Hz.

*Dual-link DVI capability to drive the industry's largest and highest resolution digital flat panel displays up to 2560x1600 at 60 Hz.

*Integrated HDTV encoder provides analog TV-output (Component/Composite/S-Video) up to 1080i resolution....

Why can I never get full screen? Should I be going to the HDMI on the TV from the DVI on the vid card? Which would be a problem since I don't have any more HDMI ports open on the TV.

Maybe I have this who contraption hooked up wrong.

HD DirecTV DVR into HDMI on TV

Oppo 981 into HDMI on TV

DVI on PC Card to PC-IN on TV

Equipment List:

Denon AVR-2807 Receiver

Oppon 981

Sony KDS 60A2000

7900GS on XP PC with Dual DVI and SVideo

Am I doing this all wrong?

THANKS

are you using DVI or VGA?

VGA does not do 1920*1080 on the 2000 and 2020 SXRD sets. HDMI will work perfectly at 1080p though, but there will be overscan. I use the Nvidia drivers to run 1800*1010 in a 1920*1080 frame.

It must be VGA..........since it's going from the DVI port on the card to the PC-IN on the TV.

There's my problem as to why I am limited. Looking at my whole system, it isn't hooked up right at all. I am not using any of the HDMI ports on my Denon. HDMI to the TV, the component sound to the receiver.

Think I got some re-wiring to do. Only thing would be how does the sound from the PC go to the receiver?

Or what is the best options for hooking the PC Video and sound to the TV and Denon receiver.

What a maroon I am!
