Hello everyone, I am new here and have been lurking and enjoying this forum and this is my first post after having gotten my HTPC connected to my Sony 61HS10 via the RGBHV input much in part due to the fine people posting here.
Unfortunately, (or fortunately) I have opened up a can of worms leading me down an upgrade path for other parts of my system. The first of which looks to be upgrading my A/V Receiver.
Here is my situation. Since my TV only has 1 Progressive component input I have been manually switching between my DVD component cable and the RGB connections of my VGA breakout cable (leaving the HV connections always on). I saw a component switchbox for about $120 but since I need a new receiver anyways it made more sense to invest that cash into a new receiver with component switching.
So finally here's the question. I was pleasantly surprised to see that several new receivers I have been looking at have 2 component switching and have noticed that they seem to vary between 30-50MHz in bandwidth. Since I need both inputs to handle Progressive Scan is there a bandwidth requirement? also, I plan on only connecting the Y Pr Pb connections and then getting an extension to send the HV connections to the TV like I currently do. Will this work?
