For those of you who are still interested in receiving the Sony Promo Offer of one full year of Netflix and Hulu Plus FREE........LISTEN UP............you must act soon!

Follow the helpful links and posts on page 86 of this thread.............the Hulu Plus was easy.......but the Netflix was a bit more involved.........As one member stated, you I'll have to call Sony to get the promotional code.......and initially, they will tell you the promotion ended Dec.31 2013...........you must be patient but firm here......and point out the link to Sony's own website product description and "footnote #7" ( here they state you must purchase the TV by March 31, 2014 and redeem the offer by April 30, 2014.......you'll find the link and the entire post on page 86)........that should prompt the CS rep to kick you up to a higher authority.

They should then transfer you to an advanced account specialist..............who will eventually ask (as you remain calm and insistent) for you to fax him a copy of your TV receipt along with a reference number, which he will give you........to a fax number, which he will also give you............and voila ! ......the code you need will appear in your e-mailbox within 48hrs............:)

Hope this helps some of you get the free offer !!

I just called them over the weekend and got my Netflix code today. They actually emailed me twice with 2 different codes by mistake, and after using the first one, I tried the other code and it credited my account for another $95.88! So I guess I'm getting 2 years of Netflix
Don't tell Sony

Very nice!

Is that the view out your back window?

Oh how I wish, but I live in the desert far from any lakes. This may be why I enjoy posting the many scenic water pictures.

Got my 65w850a today. I'm very impressed with the picture quality. I really couldn't be happier with this TV so far. Used the settings from the Sound and Vision review and liked the picture, then used the Disney WoW disc, and preferred the latter. Played a little XBONE, watched some TV, and watched 15 minutes of Pacific Rim 3D from Comcast On Demand. All three things looked great. I was surprised by the 3D, something I never thought I would use on a TV, but it actually worked pretty good.

Just got a software update. Not sure what it applied. Post back if anyone finds a note about it.

Got my update for my W900 as well yesterday Velvet396 and cant find any info on why we got the update and what it was for. And Sony as always has no info about the update posted on their website either. I freakin hate when they do that!

I noticed if I play netflex or amazon directly on TV the picture is not as crisp/clear in comparison to playing it from an amazon app from my blu-ray player. I wonder if playing from TV app takes away processing power of PQ. Anyone experiencing the same?? This was the same experience with the Sammy 75f6400

Also having trouble seeing any titles on the tv's netflix app as "superhd" or actual 3D.

I had to use my PS3 to get 3D to work with Netflix on my XBR-65X900A.

Regarding the free 1-year of Netflix and Hulu, I want to thank all of the earlier posts that alerted me to this offer. I had no idea that Sony was doing this as it was buried in a footnote on the KDL 65w850a spec sheet. I cannot thank you guys enough for posting this information. As we are coming to the end of when you can redeem this offer I thought I would post the process I went through to obtain the free year of Netflix and Hulu. The Netflix offer takes a little work as you will need to call Sony to get the code. I followed the steps listed below and and within 48 hours I had the Netflix code in my inbox. Keep in mind that to be eligible for either offer you have had to purchase your 2013 Sony TV by March 31 2014 and redeem your offer by April 30th. Here is the exact language of the offer:

"Purchase by 3/31/2014 and redeem by 4/30/2014. Consumers who purchase a qualifying new 2013 Sony BRAVIA TV will receive a 12 month subscription to Netflix Unlimited Streaming service and Hulu Plus service on the $7.99/month plans. New, existing and past Netflix subscribers are eligible for the Netflix offer. Credit card is required to redeem the Hulu Plus offer and is open only to new subscribers.”

Netflix Offer

1. Call Sony at 1-888-222-7669. During the automated menu select you need assistance on Sony TVs.

2. Once you get an operator on the phone tell him/her that you are calling to get assistance in redeeming the 1-year Netflix code for purchasing a 2013 Sony TV. If they ask you where you saw this offer tell them it on spec sheet for the KDL 65w850a spec sheet that is on Sony.com.

3. The customer service rep will give you a case #. Copy that down. They will tell you that you need to fax in your receipt to them. The fax number they gave me is 239-768-7816. They will also need your email address. Simply fax your receipt for your TV along with your Case # and include your email address on the fax.

4. Within 48 hours you will receive a code from Sony and a Netflix link. You enter the code and you will get 1-year of Netflix for free. You need to do this before April 30th, so best to get this in now.

Hulu Offer

1. If you want to get the Hulu 1-year free offer just click on this link: http://www.huluplus.com/SonyTV2013

2. All you will need is the activation code that is displayed when you launch the Hulu app on your TV. You will need to enter in a credit card and use an email address that Hulu does not have on file (providing you have used Hulu in the past). Enter the code as displayed on your TV and this will activate Hulu for 1-year. Just remember to cancel in 12 months or you will get billed on a monthly basis.

Pretty sweet deal. I successfully redeemed the offers and I am currently enjoying both services.

For some reason Sony has decided not to enable 3D in the Netflix app for the W and even X series. I believe only the R series for 2013 had Netflix 3D...go figure!!!!

As far as Super HD is concerned, just hit the 'info' button on the Sony remote while streaming an HD title and you will see "1080 Super HD" in the top left corner of the screen.
