Hey guys, I just found the 70XBR3 for appx. $16,000 (appx. half cost of original price; NOT that I could afford it); from a local reputable dealer.


I know the 70XBR3 has TRILuminos RGB LED Backlighting, and the 70XBR7 (MSRP appx. $20,000) does not.


If I had money to burn I would go with the 3 because of the LED's.


I have both specs pages for ea. respective model open on my PC screen, but am too lazy right now to compare. Plus you can't to do the compare specs column thing on Sony website with these models. ANYWAYS...


1. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT THE 7 ADDS OVER THE 3?


2. WHICH ONE WOULD YOU GUYS CHOOSE?

I was wondering what's the point of having an LED backlit TV if its not going to be local dimming (LD).


I guess what I'm trying to ask is, if the 70XBR3 is not LD or edge lit, how does it work?


Do the LED's just dim in rows like CCFL/WC-CCFL LCD's?
