Hi

I'm very close to deciding on a new projector. I would appreciate advice on what you would choose.

I would like to use a 2.35:1 screen but it's not the be all and end all. First row of seats will be approximately 10 ft from the screen and I would prefer to ceiling mount the PJ. The room size is 18'3 x 17'

Up to now I've been using an InFocus IN82..... Thanks

The 95 is not near as bright as the IN82. IN82 is about 1.4 times brighter. The 95 would have much better contrast. What size and gain screen are you wanting to go to and what are you using now?

I used a 95 on a 138" (diagonal) 1.1 gain screen 2:35 screen with good results. I have a light controlled room and kept the lamp on high, but Sony's high lamp noise is just as silent as most company's low mode. I would definitely choose the Sony or JVC (owned 6 JVCs) over the Panny.

Current screen is a 92" Grandview with a 1.1 gain so quite low

A 95 will not have any problem lighting up that screen. I am assuming that you have somewhat light control.

This new PJ choice will also be going onto a new screen, looking at around 137" ......really impressed with the Screen Innovation LED lit Slate no edge screen but it's around $4000

The PJ will be going into a new dedicate theatre that will be completely light controlled

Why was the 95ES discontinued? Seems like Sony doesn't have that mid point projector right now.

They do have a big hole in their line up. We have some of the 95 B-stocks coming in tomorrow.
