Sony Bravia 32 HD

Hi,

Sorry to join in your community with this question.

I am moving to the US and was planning to take my UK Sony Bravia HD LCD TV with me to connect to a Cox Cable HDTV box (KDL-S32A12U - the product details can be found at Sony UK previous models - sorry no link as I am new to this forum).

I had thought this would be possible by using a USA to UK Step-Up Transformer from Maplin in the UK. Does anyone know if a step-up transformer will work?

As for the picture, I know I will only receive NTSC 3.58/4.43 (via Video In), so does that mean that if I connect the Cox cable box to the Component or HDMI connectors it will work?

I know this TV is not the best HD TV, and I should really be buying a new Sony HD XBR, but if it works, then this will be a good sized TV for the bedroom when I do get the money for a new TV...

Thank you for taking the time to read, and hopefully to help me...

Yes it will. Be sure you get a step-up transformer powerful enough to handle the TV, though.

Yes, that's absolutely correct.

BTW, if you'd like a new HDTV, you might want to consider buying it here before you leave. The US models have a very slightly better selection of inputs, but they're still inferior to the European/UK versions since they support all video standards. The American and Japanese models are 60hz/NTSC only.
