I would recommend you go with the Sony KDL-32L4000 because its native resolution is 1366x768 and accepts 720p and 1080i sources. When connected using an HDMI cable, It will accept the 1080p source.

The native resolution of that Vizio Plasma VP322 is 1024x720, Its not an HD resolution, Anything below 1280x720 is not HD.

If you don't believe me, Go to Walmart and have a look at those TVs and you will noticed the difference.

"High Definition usually refers to 720 vertical lines of video format resolution or more".

But when you look at something thats 1366x768 and 1024x720 side by side, you will noticed a huge different in the quality of the picture, There is so much lost in detail on a 1024x720 screen.

A nother (potentially) better options in the 32" size are the LG 32LG30. With the same $699 pricetag, it seems like a better deal. I too have the Sony KDL-32L4000 in the running in my choices... Check out my "best 32 for the price TODAY" thread in this same forum

100% go with the Sony. Number one, the aspect ratio is off on the Vizio. It's 1.42:1 instead of the proper 1.78:1. This means your tv will in all practicality act as a less than 32" tv when playing HD content. Either that or cut off some of the side of the picture. That Vizio is not a good choice.

The aspect ratio is not off at all on the Vizio, it uses rectangular pixels. 1024x720 is a common resolution for plasma. It is absolutely an HD resolution as it has 720 verticle lines, horizontal lines are not taken into account. The picture on the Vizio will kill the lcd set, as it is a plasma. MUCH better blacks and color saturation, as well as much smoother motion. I have both lcd and plasma sets in my house, including the 322 in my bedroom. As far as PQ goes, it's no contest with the win going to the plasma. Not sure what the guy was saying about the "HUGE" difference between 1366x768 and 1024x720, maybe he needs his glasses checked. In Plasma vs. LCD as far as PQ goes, it's not even a contest.

There are some other significant issues with this set though that may sway your opinion, check here for more details.
