It's an 800x600 LCD. You will see screen door effect, but you get used to it after a while. My last projector was a 640x480 LCD. There are other choices in this price range. Stick around.

I have had a Demo unit of the VPL-HS1 for the last 2 weeks.

While it is no VPL-VW11HT, for the price it is a very nice projector. It is a LCD but Sony has done a very good job with masking the screen door effect. Pixelation look almost as good as a DLP.

and the unit look pretty too..... http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Another quick note on the Cineza (vpl-hs1). Lamps are priced better for high hour usage.

Lamps retail for $199 and go for a street price of around $169

2000 hr too.

I had a 800x600 LCD, the Sharp 99, and the 640x480 S80U LCD for years prior to that. I never got used to the screen door. A LT150 DLP has far less screen door and can be purchased for less than $2600. The trade off is Rainbows on the LT150 but IMHO is far less distracting.
