I just set up my new Sony receiver and the video switching (2 component and 2 HDMI sources so far) works as advertised. The problem is I'm still a month away from getting the speakers set up. I figured that the receiver would just send the audio (2 channel stereo only of course) over the single HDMI output to the TV speakers so I could at least use the receiver in the meantime, but it doesn't appear to work this way. I didn't see anything in the manual that says if it can work this way or not. Does anyone know if this receiver has this capability?

Never mind - I think I found the answer in the manual. Under the HDMI settings menu the audio output is set to "AMP" by default. I just need to set it to TV+AMP.

Note that setting your output to TV+Amp will likely result in source devices being forced to output two channel PCM. I DON'T suggest you do this.
