Is there a way that I can have the Sony 777ES associate different sound modes to various source inputs? I have multiple sources of input for my home theater/ entertainment center and would like to fix a surround mode to each source without having to change surround modes each time I switch from VCR to Laserdisc to DVD to CD to HTPC, etc. I seem to remember lower end Sony receivers being able to do this. I am upset that I can't find a way to do it on their high end 777ES.

Go into the Customize menu and scroll until you find Soundfield Lock (I think that is the name). Turn it on.


Now your Sony will remember the soundfield you set for each input whenever you return to that input.
