I'm not using it but I've listened to it and wouldn't recommended, especially considering the cost. It lacks any midrange dynamics and accuracy as there is only 1 small midrange driver located in the subwoofer to handle all 5 speakers. I'd even go to the distance it sounds worse than Bose.


Ask yourself do you really need a surround system that have speakers that weigh less than the wires they are connected to? I'm assuming you are looking for something with an integrated DVD player?

is it worth $299? Not for serious system, of course, I'm thinking about using it for background music playback only (where it plays really low volume) and PC use.


Or I might as well get a Logitech THX 2.1 system instead (also approx the same price).


My main concern is that the Sony's Xover point is at 800 Hz (ugh!)

Its not worth it AT ALL there are plenty of othere systems that will sound better than the song for background music.


Music requires midrange which the sony lack the Logitech thx will offer great sound
