What can I do with the wideband connection on my sony dss receiver?, it is an older model I think the sat b 50. Looks like a 20 pin connector, 2 rows of 10 (I have not counted so this could be off a little).

I believe that you can use this connection for a HD decoder. For example, if you had a separate STB HD decoder, you could run a hi-def signal to the STB and watch away!

Someone else jump in here, I am not completely clear on this and would like to find out myself.

The wideband connector was intended to interface with devices such as tivo and the like. I have no official word on it but I belive SONY will not ever support it for such purposes as they prefer to sell a new all in one unit, such as the SAT-T60 tivo/UTV box. Keep heart though, if echo really does take over DTV then that wide band connector might be used for an add on box instead of having to get a new reciver box to get the comined service( are you listening charly ergan? )
