I just purchased a Sony 40" LCD HDTV and also a Sony DVP-NS700H/B

1080p Upscaling DVD Player.

I also just purchased the Philips DVDR3576H/37.

My question is:

The Sony DVD player is exceptional on my TV.

Is the Philips DVR an excellent DVD player?

I see that the Philips Digital-to-Analog Converter is 10 bit 54Mhz and the Sony is 12 Bit 108MHz.

Does this make a great difference in picture quality?

I would record something to a DVD on the Philips. Then watch the burned DVD on the Philips and then the Sony. Then you can decide with your setup.

I don't have the Philips yet, I am picking it up Saturday.

I was thinking of returning the Sony before then if I knew the Philips would display as good on my TV.
