Hello

Just came across a opportunity to pick up a

Sony G90u with about 800 hours.

1)- what is the usable life expectancy of these tubes

2)- what is the cost to replace tubes

Thank you

Jim:)

800 hours sounds great assuming they were taken care of. It doesn't take many hours to burn an image on the CRT.

The G90 tubes are quite hardy. William Phelps has done a great deal of measuring and monitoring G90 tube wear over time and concluded virtually zero wear even after something like 1000 hours.

Also, you should be aware that it is possible to burn the CRT's on even a

G90 with a X-Box or other static image in very little time.

By the way William visited my G90 a few weeks ago and I can't say enough about the quality of the setup. He can wring every bit of performance out of a PJ. Quite something to see.

Art, you rascal you. I can say that I'm getting closer. That's a safe statement. I have loose ends to complete, but before snow flies...
