I just bought a used Sony Handycam that I am trying to get A/V out to my TV. I am using a standard 3.5mm to 3x RCA, but I get no sound and a fuzzy picture sporadically. I tried plugging in different combinations and still nothing works. This cable works on other devices (WD live box).

When I looked in the manual, it said this model used an AV cable that was 3.5mm to 2x RCA (yellow and black). Would this have something to do with my problem? I would think my video would at least show, but I am not sure if the wiring is different enough to affect the video. Obviously, I can just buy one like this and see if it works, but I was hoping someone would have some insight before I make the purchase.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.
