I am in the process of downgrading my current projector to one of the following. Would these compare to the DLP HD2+ or am I in for a huge disappointment?


Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

From what I've heard, the HS51 will compare closest to the DLP HD2+. The HS51's black levels are supposed to be far beyond what we've seen in LCDs to date.

From what is posted (reviews), the AE700 has no screendoor, but may have some vertical banding issues. The HS51 has excellent contrast ratio but possibly screendoor. I just purchased the 700 and will have it in a few days. However, I've been tempted to hold off for the Sony. I am extremely sensitive to SD, VBE, and every other negative PQ quality. Maybe thats why I love my 34" Sony Tube. Now if only I can increase it's size from 34" to 110"!?
