I cannot find the code to program my 15-2116 to control the receiver. I can use the IR Learn on the remote to control the volume, change source, but I cannot find the code to power the unit on and off. Can anyone help? Also, after I have found a code, can I program a macro to turn on the TV, turn on the DBS and turn on the reciever automatically? I have descrete codes for my TV to turn to the S-Video connection and power on the tv, but I need to get the descrete codes to turn on the reciever as well and switch to the video source.

You need to change the codeset your sony responds to, if you can. You have to change it from AV2 to AV1, then and only then will the preset codes in the 2116 work. see this thread.

That was it. Thanks alot! One other thing is that I can't switch inputs. Of course I can't learn from the remote cuz the receiver won't recognize it. Any other suggestions? Anyone know the descretes for this receiver?

Digest this, the gist of that thread is, the sony receiver codes in the 2116 do not accept advanced codes. But you can use the sony TAPE code 0243 instead. Change the audio device from RCVR1158 to TAPE0243. Now using these advanced codes, use the directions here.

Okay, the remote won't accept 0243, and I am able to switch b/w video and tuner, but the buttons were odd. The 2 button was for Tuner and the 6 Button was for Video, but I moved them w/ the Keymover feature! Very cool! It seems there is no way to switch to DVD so I'll just live with it. I need to manually load the DVD's anyways .

Code 0243 is a Tape deck code, it isn't under RVCR or AMP, its under TAPE.


1. press AUDIO or AUX, whichever you're using.

2. press and hold P

3. press SELECT

4. scroll down to TAPE

5. SELECT, no need to enter the 0243 because thats the only tape in the 2116.

6. exit


1. press AUDIO

2. press and hold P

3. scroll down to KEYMOVER

4. SELECT

5. AUDIO

6. tap P

7. enter 124 or 191, for the dvd command

8. AUDIO

9. pick a key


Substitute other advanced codes for other inputs, once done, reprogram the AUDIO device with setup code RCVR1158.

Genious, pure Genious!!! That seems to have done it. It uses code 191.
