The IFB-12A can be configured to accept both 720p and 1080i input via component cables.

The IFB-12 cannot be configured to accept non-interlaced input.

There is little on the boards themselves to distinguish an IFB-12 from an IFB-12A - they both say IFB-12 on the board.

So it is possible that your "IFB-12" board is actually an IFB-12A.

There is a much longer and more informative thread in this forum on this topic. Just do a search on "IFB-12A".

Just for the record, you will have to change some jumpers on your IFB-12A that Sony says NOT to change.

Hope this helps

I wish I had some help here from others with a little more experience :)

But, look through those other threads, find the switch settings and change your IFB to match.

Install it in your PJ, run some good quality component cables to it from a known good component source and give it a try.

At least one other person connected theirs with the wrong switch settings, found it didn't work, changed to the correct switch settings and it did work.

But of course, all the caveats apply, I'm not responsible for anything you do to your PJ.

Hope this helps

It has been covered in the other threads

U/C AEP : S/N 040,001 TO 041,750

IFB 12A (NEW) J: S/N 031,451 AND LATER

U/C AEP : S/N 041,751 AND LATER
