I just got the Sony KDF-50WE655 and I'm confused about the split screen functionality. Am I correct that the TV doesn't support two digital inputs to be displayed side by side? I have a HD DirecTv unit and a non-HD unit, and a regular antenna input feeding the TV. I am not able to display two digital inputs (HD DirecTV in on HDMI input 7) and (over the air HD from antenna input on VHF/UHF input).

Why doesn't the TV support this? is there a way to get two inputs side by side?

I'd like to watch over the air HD and DirecTV HD at the same time on Sundays for NFL football. I'm really bummed that this doesn't work.

nah, according to the manual, only the left side of the screen can show 480p, 720p, 1080i.

I hear you SlyDog10. This is one of my biggest gripes with the current sets. Basically, PIP, POP and splitscreen is completely useless to me. The only tv that I know of that can do a splitscreen of two digital sources is last year's Panny 50 LCD multimedia display. That tv has alot of features, and inputs. Too bad the picture isn't that great (not that bad either though).
