Sony KDF-E42A10 or Panasonic TH-42PHD8UK

Hey everyone I understand this is a bit of an odd question as they are two completely different technologies. Whichever TV I end up buying will be used for Xbox 360/DVD/HDTV pretty equally.

I had made up my mind to get the Sony 42" A10.

KDF-E42A10

Pros

- It was the price I wanted

- Beautiful picture

- A good number of interface options

Cons

- Newer technology could mean more issues

- Replacing $200-300 bulb every 2-3 years

- Not quite as attractive as a flat panel display. But not horrible

My friend then called me while i was on the way to do some pricing and in store research in preparation for the big purchase. He had just purchased the Panasonic TH-42PHD8UK, and got a pretty good deal on it. I also made the championship of my fantasy football league and could find myself coming into an extra $400 - $800 to go towards my purchase.

TH-42PHD8UK

Pros

-Customizable blade selection in 2 slots for inputs

-Great picture

-Flat panel could really unclutter the living room in our new house

-PIP

Cons

-No Speakers. I have have an average sound system that i would be wiring into. I plan on upgrading to a 5.1 system at some point in the future. Not sure when.

-Possible Glare/Reflection issues in the living room depending on where i put it.

-More expensive

Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
