sony did me right my tv was out of warranty by 29 days and thae fixed it for me but it took me almost 3weeks to get it fixed i had faint red bloches on the screen repair shop said it was the optic block and it will cost 1180.00 for part and 350.00 for labor at 1st sony only wanted them to just clean the optic block so the tech came and i watched him clean it and put it back turned it on and it was worse but now i have green ones now. so the tech said well you need a new optic block now and he will have to order it the next day he came back and put it in and all better now hats off to sony.

Similar thing happened to me on my old 32" Toshiba some years ago when a video card went out a few weeks after the warranty expired. It was actually the repair tech that told me to write Toshiba Customer Service. Nice to know sometimes these companies respond with goodwill. Intelligent correspondence helps too...I don't think they deal as kindly with the 'enraged'... :)
I have the model down from that KDF-WE610, and that happened to me also. My Sony experience was not as good. They first tried to clean it, then replaced the light engine twice and its worse. Finally (after two months) they agreed to replace my 1-year old TV with a refurbished model. I wasn't having any of that. So I am now dealing with CC warranty and they will be getting me an authorization number this week to take to the local CC where I purchased the TV to get a credit towards a new set. Hmm..what to buy now?
