First post.  I have a Sony KDL-40W4100 that we've had for five or six years.  It is connected directly via coax (no cable box).  Usually we watch everything via a Windows Media Center Extender (via hdmi), but sometimes it nice just to turn on the tv directly via coax for something quick.

Anyway, we are no longer receiving any digital channels via coax.  Used to pick up around 100, now only 20 analog channels.

Tried doing a hard reset and setup, and still only finds 20 anaolog channels.  When I try "add digital channels," it begins the search fine, then goes to a purple screen with white vertical lines for a few seconds.  Then it just goes back to normal tv.

Summary...analog channels fine/digital channels gone.

Other TV's (two samsungs) tuned all the digital channels fine.

Thanks for the help!

Think I solved it.  Hard reset.  Left unplugged for an hour.  Plugged back in.  Another hard reset.  Firmware update followed by another reset.  So far so good.  Firmware description had nothing to do with the digital receiver, but the planets all lined up!
