Can buy a used Sony 40" XBR5 locally for $1200, maybe a little less. Can buy the new Samsung for a couple hundred more. Idea is to keep this TV about 2 years and spring for a really nice TV at that point, once technology matures, prices on blu-ray (or whatever format emerges as the HD standard) comes down in price, along with HD TV/DVR packages.
Assuming the XBR5 doesn't have more than 500-1000 hours on it, is this an easy call one way or the other?
