On a Sony KP-43HT20 RPCRT TV, does anyone know if there is a way, perhaps in the service menu, to disable 16:9 mode for 1080i inputs?
I'm using it as a display for a computer, and would like to drive it at as high a resolution as possible, but still use the full 4:3 screen area. Right now in order to use the full screen I have to run it at 480p.
If I mess with the VSIZ and ASPT settings in the service menu I can stretch the 16:9 image to fill the full screen, but then the convergence goes off at the top and bottom of the screen. And I guess its not such a good idea to run the TV like that for long periods of time.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
