Hello,

I have owned my Sony KV-32HS510 for about 1 year now and have been very happy with it. I have a digital cable box which I have connected with component cables to my TV. Here are my questions:

1) Should I upgrade my cable box output from component to DVI to get a better digital cable (non HD) signal?

2) I am planning on buying the samsung upconverting DVD player (HD950) and will be using a DVI cable to connect that to my TV. My TV only has one DVI input. Can I share the input port (with the cable box as mentioned above) or link them serially? Basically, is there a way to put in multiple DVI signals into the one input? And should I do that?

Thank you for you help.

You can buy a DVI switcher from companies like Zektor or Gefen. In a pinch, I'd give the DVD player priority over the cable box for DVI useage.

use component for the cable box, doubt there will be any difference

and use dVI for the upscaling DVD player as they require DVI or HDMI for upscaling

I probably would not buy a switch

but might instead look at HDMI switching AV receivers
