Next week, Sony is releasing a 1.7 GHz, 100 GB, 512 MB desktop (PCV-MXS10) with a DVD-RW drive, nVIDIA Geforce2 MX graphics card, TIVO-type software that can record upto 100 hours of programs, and port connectors including one DVI, one VGA, digital optical i/o. The price is $2800.
The MXS10 is being marketed as the "ultimate AV experience." I have no experience using HTPCs with my lt150, and I realize that most HTPC users either build their units or purchase custom-made PCs from AVS or Digital Connection, but I was wondering if the MXS10 could function as a full-fledged HTPC and bring new life to my lt150 (and probably a Sharp z9000 in the future). Would I need to purchase additional software/hardware?
Thanks,
James
