I believe it was for AVS club members only. I'm not sure what the price was, but thedigitalbits is having a power buy right now for the BDP-S1 for $850 delivered. Also, these can be had new on eBay for ~$700.

I've been an AVS Club Member for a while and never saw an unpdate to that post nor did I hear anything about the Power Buy ever being active.
