sony red light blinks 5-6 times please help

My sony kf60we610 will not power on. It goes from green to 5-6 blinking red lights. I have searched and searched and not able to get much help. Please help me.

5 times Lamp driver error - Lamp driver is faulty. - No picture/No sound

6 times +B OVP error - +17V is not supplied. (G1 board) - No picture/No sound


The first one is the lamp driver, also called the ballast. It is the HV power supply that lights the lamp. A lamp driver alarm can also be caused by a bad lamp or bad wiring to the lamp from the ballast.


The second one is an alarm of a defect in one of the main boards in the tv, the G1 board, or of course bad wiring from the G1 board on the wires that carry the 17V.


Step one should be a physical inspection of the existing lamp.
