Thanks for the link! Great review...can't wait for Part 2
He mentions at the end of the review this was the same unit on display at Cedia. I wounder if any of the reviewers were given a production unit how much if any part of the review would be different.
Thanks. Pretty strong so far.:)
Drool clean up on Aisle 1!
Pretty good review, but I did find this part rather, um, "contradictory":

The VPL-VW100 is exceptionally quiet—no one has yet come close to Sony in this aspect of home projector design, though a few have come close.
So, no one has yet come close, though a few have come close!

;)
Statements like these make me cringe:

- Of course, HD is a smaller step up from DVD than DVD was from laserdisc.

- The blacks available from the VPL-VW100 are not quite as rich as the best I've seen from a good CRT display. But they're arguably as deep as any CRT front projector I've seen apart from a few products that sell (or sold, when they were available) for upwards of $60,000.
Statements like these (esp. at the price point Ruby's selling at) make me ecstatic:

"I pulled out one challenging, dark-scene-heavy DVD after another, and nothing phased the VPL-VW100...Blacks looked truly black, but in a way that make them appear to be part of a real scene and not some opaque, digital void."

"And the VPL-VW100's blacks are certainly darker than the best I've seen in any commercial movie theater."

Hopefully the above is true when I get a chance to see it "live"
